Hi! I'm glad you've your way to my (very elementary) Japanese language blog! Growing up in a Spanish-speaking household in the United States I quickly realized the advantages of knowing more than one language. In high school, I never really had the opportunity to formally study a non-European language, which I felt would be the most rewarding for myself. I really enjoy the sound of Japanese and I think that learning a language so different from Spanish or English is going to be a great experience.
I've only been in class for about a month or so, and so far I am thoroughly enjoying the class. One of the things I find interesting about Japanese is the grammar. Particles follow words and mark their role in the sentence. What's been challenging so far is learning the vocabulary. Apart from import words, I can't try to guess the meaning of a word by trying to find its Latin roots, because they just don't exist. That's not to say studying Japanese has not been rewarding. I am very excited to continue to learn Japanese.

すみません。 I know this is out of the blue, but our 日本語のクラスのしゅくだい is to post on the blogs of people at other universities, and you were one of the lucky picks! Haha XD. I envy you for your ability to already speak a second language (ぼくは えいごは はなせます。。。only), and I agree that the Japanese grammar is nice. Making past tenses is certainly easier than Spanish, that's for sure!

DeleteI can't tell you how often I mess up verb conjugation in Spanish. If I don't remember a certain conjugation I usually end up switching some vowels around until the verb sounds "right" (or at least not as wrong lol). Luckily, I don't think my parents have noticed.
